Frequently asked Questions
No, not at all! Together we explore images, and I guide you, offering tips and instructions if you wish. I have worked with many clients even over 80 years old, and art therapy has always been effective! What matters is the wish to express yourself in a different way and a little bit of curiositiy:).
Yes, absolutely! Physical limitations are not an obstacle. Some of my clients are even partially paralyzed, and together we always find a way to paint. The only limitation is that my studio has a small staircase with three steps. If a wheelchair can’t get through, I’m happy to come to your home instead.
You are welcome to arrive quietly 5–10 minutes before your scheduled time. Please take a seat in the waiting area, and I will come to meet you as soon as I’m ready.
In art therapy, the creative process is an integral part of the work. Expressing oneself through artistic means offers a unique way to access inner experiences—beyond words. Sessions usually begin with a brief conversation, then move into the practical side using paint and body engagement. The art therapy triad—artwork, creative process, and therapeutic relationship—is central to the approach. Concerns are addressed in the “here and now” and can be explored directly, incorporating both body awareness and breath while painting.
The sessions (if not online) take place at my art therapy practice in Vangede. For support during illness or special life circumstances, home visits are also possible by arrangement.
It has been shown that most children have an attention span of about 45–60 minutes when painting. For this reason, I offer sessions lasting 45 minutes. If a child wishes to paint longer, this can be arranged in consultation with the caregiver.
For teenagers and adults, I recommend 90-minute sessions. However, if needed (due to illness, limitations, or attention difficulties), sessions can also be shortened to 60 minutes by arrangement.
Your therapy fees include the materials used in the studio. These materials are of high quality and carefully tested. It’s important to me that everyone can participate in art therapy, which is why I keep the costs as low as possible. If finances are still a challenge, please get in touch and we will find a solution together!
After an art therapy session, please transfer the fee via MobilePay, as I do not accept cash. If you book online, a payment link will be provided, and the session fee should be paid in advance.
As a psychotherapist and art therapist, I am bound by confidentiality. This means that everything shared in our sessions remains private. A mindful and respectful approach to personal topics is a central foundation of my work. Even with parents, I will not disclose the content of a child’s session— unless the child wishes for it to be shared.
If your health insurance provider or another authority requires a report or confirmation, this will only be prepared with your explicit consent, in clear agreement with you, and limited strictly to what is necessary — within the framework of a confidentiality release.
